Kirsten focuses her practice on insurance company receiverships. She has experience representing regulators and receivers during insurance company examination, supervision, rehabilitation, and liquidation, including disputed receivership litigation. She has experience with all stages of receivership, including communications with the supervising court, policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders; proof of claim procedures and adjudications; and early access distributions. She has also served as a deputy receiver of an insolvent insurance company with oversight over HR, IT, facilities, supplier contracts, tax, and wind-down operations. Kirsten has over twenty-five years of experience in complex litigation. Her litigation experience includes successful prosecution of claims against insurance company insiders, consulting professionals, and the federal government regarding ACA payments. She also has experience with a broad range of insurance products, including complex insurance coverage litigation. Kirsten is a partner in the Kansas City office of Husch Blackwell LLP and holds a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.
