Kim Decker joined Farmers in May 2002. She is currently handling legislative affairs and certain regulatory issues for the states of Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Tennessee. She also supervises a team member handling Arkansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Wisconsin. Kim also currently oversees life-insurance related legislative issues for the country and coordinates the Farmers Legislative Affairs engagement with the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) and the State Legislative Leadership Foundation (SLLF). She also sits on the State Affairs Committee for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). In addition, she is a board member for the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds (NCIGF) and sits on several other insurance related boards in multiple states. Kim currently chairs the Colorado Insurance Guaranty Association and the Oklahoma Property & Casualty Insurance Guaranty Fund (OPCIGA), is vice-chair of the Wyoming Insurance Guaranty Association and serves as Secretary and Investment Chair of the Idaho Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association. Decker is also a member of the Western Guaranty Fund Services executive board. She also represents OPCIGA on the board of Quad Associates, LLC. In addition, she is Chair of both the Oklahoma Auto Plan and the Oklahoma Market Assistance Association. Decker is also a member of several other states’ insurance guaranty funds and auto plans and sits on the Boards of the insurance trades in six of her states. In addition, Decker is co-Chair of NCIGF’s Public Policy Committee and is a member of several other NCIGF committees. She also participates in the SLSG Quick Response Team for the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI) and the Industry Education Council (IEC), which is associated with the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL). Kim helped create and then co-chaired the National Tornado Summit for its eight-year run. She was also a subcommittee member of the Executive Committee for the National Tornado Summit Foundation. |
