Joseph DellaFera is the Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Property-Liability Insurance Guaranty Association (NJPLIGA). NJPLIGA also acts as the statutory administrator of several other entities, including the New Jersey Surplus Lines Insurance Guaranty Fund (NJSLIGF) and the Workers’ Compensation Security Fund. NJSLIGF provides claimant and policyholder protections when surplus lines carriers are declared insolvent. This is the only such fund in the country.

In addition to the traditional guaranty fund responsibility of providing a policyholder safety-net for insurer insolvencies, NJPLIGA also administers the Unsatisfied Claim and Judgment Fund which pays the damages of uninsured claimants injured in an accident with uninsured motorists and pedestrians when no other insurance is available.

Mr. DellaFera began his career with the Association in 1989 after receiving his degree in Economics and Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Mr. DellaFera is an active member of the National Conference of Insurance Guaranty Funds and the International Association of Insurance Receivers and has previously served on the NCIGF Board of Directors.
