Jodi Adolf is an experienced insurance lawyer with a focus on regulatory and compliance matters for life, accident and health and property and casualty insurance clients. Her practice includes advising on the formation and licensing of insurance companies and third-party administrators. She advises clients on licensing and compliance and also works on insurance insolvencies, acting as general counsel in insurer receiverships. Jodi is a Special Deputy Receiver of MutualAid eXchange, a property and casualty insurer domiciled in the State of Kansas.

Leveraging more than 20 years of experience, Jodi advises on licensing, state mandates, contracting issues, claims compliance and advertising compliance. She advises business entity producers on compliance issues, including laws regarding commissions, referral fees and rebates. She assists clients in responding to complaints and inquiries from state departments of insurance, as well as in developing advertising compliance training materials and conducting in-house training programs.

Jodi regularly advises state insurance regulators on insolvency issues, drawing on her many years of experience in representing state insurance departments in the rehabilitation and liquidation of insurance companies. She currently serves as Counsel to the Receiver or special deputy receiver for:

• National States Insurance Company, a Missouri-domiciled insurer underwriting long-term care and Medicare Supplement products. 2010 to present.
• Lumbermen’s Underwriting Alliance, a Missouri-domiciled insurer underwriting property and large-deductible workers’ compensation products for professional employer organizations. 2015 to present.
•  MutualAid eXchange, a Kansas-domiciled reciprocal insurance exchange underwriting property insurance. 2023 to present.
• Key Insurance Company, a Kansas domiciled property and casualty insurer. 2025.

In addition to these special deputy appointments, she currently acts as special reinsurance and regulatory counsel to the North Carolina Insurance Department in its management of the Global Bankers insurance receiverships (Colorado Bankers Life, Bankers Life, and Southland National). 2019 to present.
