Blake Obata is the Executive Director of the Hawaii Insurance Guaranty Association (HIGA). Blake graduated in 1977 from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Business Administration (BBA) – Accounting and began his insurance career. Before joining HIGA, Blake worked as Claim Manager and served on the Board of Commercial Union Insurance Company until 1987. After which he began with HIGA, running off Hawaii’s first domestic insolvency and has been there since. Blake resides in Honolulu and welcomes you to his beautiful state.
